An excellent end to the cadets first day of racing with Junior Cadet Sion Edwards and Cadet Morgan Pool coming 3rd in their class both in their first ever race. A very well done to both, and all the cadets taking part today.

District Rowing Competition
A massive well done to T.S. Aberconwy's Rowing Team for their efforts at the District Rowing Competition at Rhyl Marine Lake on Sunday 3rd June 2018.

Although we didn't come home with any medals, the team had an excellent time; learned some new skills and developed team work!

Deganwy Prom Day
We have a stall at the Prom Day tomorrow and need volunteers to help man it, We will be there from 10.00 till 16.00, uniform is half blues or 4s.
Parents and friends why not come down as well and enjoy a fun day out whilst supporting us and other deserving local causes
Royal Naval Parade 2018
Well done to all the cadets who turned out on the 20th March 2017 for our Royal Navy Parade. The cadets had a formal inspection from the North West Area Officer, Commander Bagot-Jewit; he stated that this was his first time in this part of the country. He was warmly welcomed by cadets and staff and enjoyed his tour of the unit, conducted by Leading Cadet J Faulkner. We also had the Mayor of Conwy, Mayor of Colwyn Bay and Deputy Mayor of Colwyn Bay attend our parade and were invited to inspect the ship's company. Other representitives from the RYA and RNA attended to show their support to the unit.
The cadets had prepared a scenario-based display in which allowed them to show their skills in different areas such as; Seamanship, Marine Engineering, Communications, First Aid and Teamwork. The scenario consisted of a class 10 hurricane on a remote island in the caribbean in which the Royal Navy & Sea Cadets were stuck on the island. The island had a nuclear reactor that was going into meltdown and the Sea Cadet Engineers had to fix the generator to stop it. There was injured islanders and were offered first aid assistance by the Sea Cadets. The Royal Navy were patroling the area and offered aid to the Sea Cadets and islanders. It was narrated by Leading Cadet C Thomas.

"The night was a great success, showcasing the talents of all our cadets to local dignitries and parents alike. I am very proud to be the CO of this unit."
The unit had put in a lot of time and effort for the success of the evening. From our RNP, we obtained a Pennant which shows that we are in the top 50% of units throughout the country. We are extremely proud of this achievement and we aim to gain a Burgee for 2019!
