Congratulations to former Dunstable Sea Cadet Olly Whitten who has just been accepted on a cadetship for the UK Sailing Academy, and on winning a bursary from Trinity House to support his three year cadetship.
Olly said: “...it was the experience and qualifications from TS Rebel, and the opportunities offered by the Sea Cadets, that gave me the aspiration and ability to succeed.”
On his first offshore training course at TS Rebel he was offered a place with the Cadet Yacht Racing Squad. Over the next five years he qualified as a Day Skipper and an RYA Sailing Instructor. He also gained The Duke of Edinburgh’s Scheme Gold Award. Well done Olly, let us know how you get on!
On the weekend of 21st / 22nd July 2012, the girls rowing team, powerboat team and canoeing team attended the Area Combined Regatta, at Beckingham Camp.
