North West Area Regatta

North West Area Regatta

Last weekend (13th Jul) three cadets represented Wirral district at the North West Area Regatta, they entered the power boat handling competition under the direction of team manager C.P.O (SCC) M Farley. The cadets worked extremely hard and battled the hot weather to show their ability to the judges. Although they did not bring home an award all at T.S. Forward are extremely proud of their efforts, and we wish them every luck as they prepare for next years competition.

Community Youth Recruiting Event

On Thursday 27th June Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets attended the local youth group recruiting event at the Ellesmere Port Civic Hall. The event was designed to show the youth of Ellesmere Port all the youth organisations and activities they have to offer. Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets displayed pictures of past, present & future events/activities and played a video presentation. We had lots of interest from the young people who visited the stall and went away with a little goody bag containing information on where and how to find us, who we are and what we stand for, plus lots more. Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets will be attending more community events later this year and we look forward to meeting new people

Ellesmere Port Sea Cadet Summer Fete 2013

Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets held their summer fete on Saturday 22nd June 2013. The day was complete success and enjoyed by all. The Mayor of Ellesmere Port officially opened the fete and we attracted over seven hundred people. We raised just over £1000.00 on the day. We would like to thank everyone who donated, attended and support the event and we look forward to next year’s event.

Today 2nd June 2013, Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets supported their local community Big Lunch. Supported by the Eden Project, the annual Big Lunch is a way to bring communities together.  On the menu for this year was Ellesmere Port’s Got Talent for young people, numerous competitions and activities for all the family, a small fairground in Civic Square, food and drink stands, a volunteer fair with local organisations and groups, the Volunteer Awards Ceremony, and lots more. The Cadets enjoyed showing off what the Cadets is all about and spent time with youngest sharing their own experiences.

Row Around the World Rowathon 2013

Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets took part in the National Sea Cadet Row Around the World event.  TS Forward rowed 200 miles on rowing machines kindly loaned by Chester University and raised £300.00 for the new ships appeal.  Officer in Charge, Petty Officer (SCC) Arron Ainslie said he was very proud of the Cadets & Staff who took part and raised so much for the new training ship which will benefit all cadets now and in the future.
