Offshore with the SCC - TS Royalist

Offshore with the SCC - TS Royalist

Each year the offshore vessels of the Sea Cadets take hundreds of cadets offshore to experience life at sea.

On 19th November POC Howe from F&A joined TS Royalist, the 99ft Square Brig flagship of the SCC, for a week sailing along the South Coast. She had an amazing time, learnt lots of new skills and had a brilliant week sailing a tall ship; something that was only made possible due to bursaries from Area.

The offshore courses are open to everyone over 13 1/2, and we really recommend looking into what funding is available, as it most certainly is the experience of a lifetime!

The following awards were presented:

Boatwork : POC Charlotte Newton

Community Involvement: Cdt  Ryan Horvat-Kelly

Best Junior Cadet: JC Jack Keene

The cadets all did themselves proud in terms of their uniform and the ceremonial colours routine, and we'd like to thank Cllr Sally Bacon, Mayor of Ampthill for generously presenting the awards.

 District Drill Competition Practice

District Drill Competition Practice

This weekend the unit started properly training for the District competition, to be held on 11th December.

We had a really successful weekend and the cadets did themselves proud. Judging by the standard at this early stage, we can hopefully emulate the success of previous years!
