Christmas Party 2013

Christmas Party 2013

18/12/2013
The Christmas Party was held at the unit this week in order to see 2013 out with a bang. The party is an annual tradition that is aimed at thanking the cadets and allowing them to let their hair down after a hard year of camps, courses, competitions and classes. A special thank you to A/POC Newell for providing the music, and to the team of cadets and staff who helped set up the unit for the party.

Lt Haines’ Cook/Steward 3rd Class group provided the finger-buffet as part of their assessment for their CS qualifications, all of whom passed. This will be the last group through as the CS branch is retired and born again as Catering. The new Catering and Stewarding branches will be going live in 2014. Watch this space.

”They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. With the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.”

All cadets from Luton unit turned out honour the fallen of conflicts past and to give thought for those servicemen and women serving at this time in conflicts around the world. The parade through town and service at the town hall was organised and run by the Royal British Legion. Luton unit fielded a Sea Cadet division, a Royal Marines Cadet division and a Junior Sea Cadet division.

Well done to wreath layers, Cpl Loveland, OC Esser and JCFC Craddock, as well as the two Sentinels LC Ayles and L/Cpl Perry.

Well done to all cadets and staff who turned out.
