THE QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY HONOURS LIST

THE QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY HONOURS LIST

Congratulations to those in the Sea Cadets who received wonderful recognition for their commitment and dedication to the charity today as their names were added to the Queen's Birthday Honours list 2013. It's an incredible achievement and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting our charity.

Middlesbrough Sea Cadets are always looking for volunteers who are prepared to roll up their sleeves, get involved and potentially make a huge positive difference to the lives of so many young people from our region. For more information about the roles on offer, please pop in to the Unit and see PO Rielly on any parade night.

A HAPPY 157TH BIRTHDAY FOR SEA CADETS!

A HAPPY 157TH BIRTHDAY FOR SEA CADETS!

In June 2013,  Sea Cadets celebrated 157 years of giving young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.  Sea Cadets held  celebrations in 400 units in ports, cities, towns and villages across the UK.

Sea Cadets have had another great year and were honoured to receive HM The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award 2012 in recognition of the great work that Sea Cadets and our volunteers do. After escorting HM The Queen on her Royal Barge down the Thames in the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant last year, receiving this award was the icing on the cake!

Here's to another 157 years!

MIDDLESBROUGH SEA CADETS WELCOME BACK THE...

MIDDLESBROUGH SEA CADETS WELCOME BACK THE...

On Saturday 15th June 2013, Middlesbrough, Guisborough and East Cleveland, Hartlepool and Stockton Sea Cadets opened their doors to the public to commemorate the 12 month anniversary of the Olympic Torch coming to our region. An original Torch made its way around the Sea Cadet units across Teesside, a year to the day it arrived in the North East.

At Middlesbrough, we opened our Unit to enable the public to pop in and see what we do. Not only did Middlesbrough aquire some new cadets but we also caught the attention of Tyne Tees ITV News and our very own P.O Rielly was interviewed. One of our Junior Cadets even got to hold the microphone throughout the interview! (pictured)

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for everyone from our region who got behind the Torch Relay, the Olympic and Paralympic Games this time last year. We were able to hold, have our photograph taken with the Olympic Torch and revel in the spirit of London 2012. The Sea Cadets have been part of the fabric of Teesside for many years, which is why we were thrilled to be able to offer this to everyone who wanted to create their own piece of London 2012 history”
