Luke's bike ride complete!

Luke's bike ride complete!

Leading Cadet Luke from TS Whaddon, Milton Keynes Sea Cadet and Marine Unit, is our longest serving cadet, having joined as a Junior Sea Cadet.  Luke has gained so much out of the Unit in the past seven years he feels he would like to give something back through the Parents & Supporters Association of the Unit.

Luke is a keen cyclist and during the lockdown has kept fit by cycling on most days and has completed approximately 4,500 miles (approx 7,200k) since the end of March.  Luke hoped to raise £500 by cycling a further 800 Km (500 miles) by the time he returns to School on 8th September.  We are pleased to report that he has exceeded this by 50 miles as can be seen by his mileage recorded on the STRAVA app.

The Unit are using funds at the present time to refurbish the Unit's toilets/showers (Heads) to bring them up to a high standard expected by our Staff and Cadets and others when the Unit is being used for District courses.

Thank you in advance for all donations which can be made through our P&SA Facebook page (  https://www.facebook.com/MKSCCPSA/?hc_ref=ARTpRj_F_KW35AuziJO-_hjfwqIpiChLR0ObRhTMTOw83PG8KONFCDgLTUVj4EX89iE&fref=nf&__tn__=kC-R  ) or be handed to a trustee, and will help our Cadets enjoy the Sea Cadet Experience.

ALL SEA CADET ACTIVITY SUSPENDED

Sea Cadet Activity is now currently suspended due to the current COVID 19 outbreak. (Please rest assured that to date there have been no confirmed cases involving the staff or cadets at this unit)

This means that the unit will be closed effectively immediately.

Though a very difficult decision to have reached, we do feel that it is in the best interests of our volunteers and cadets and indeed the nation. The charity itself and the support for you will not be winding down and there are plans in place looking at still being able to engage cadets in the Sea Cadet experience during this unavoidable break.

With regards to future courses we will provide you with the updates as we receive them (please do not contact the booking centres or national courses directly as they will be extremely busy completing contingency planning and they will contact us once they have updates)

Please feel free to contact the unit should you require any further information and we will do our best to update you as and when we have the information. TSWhaddon@msn.com

We wish all our volunteers, cadets and their family the best during this difficult time and will keep you up to date as to when we will be reopening

St Mary’s, Haddenham

St Mary’s, Haddenham

St Mary's Haddenham was the chosen venue on Sunday 8th March 2020, for a civic service to mark the ending of the Aylesbury Vale District Council and the completion of Councillor Judy Brandis's role as its Chair.

We were requested to provide assistance to the service by meeting and seating the congregation, issuing the order of service and organising the collection.

Thank you to the cadets, parents and staff who managed to pull this out of the bag at such short notice.

The organisers expressed their sincere gratitude and many comments were made about your politeness and how smart you were. Well done!

It is also worth a mention that the proudest piece of feedback we received was about the amount of food a cadet can get on a paper plate... you did the unit proud! #GoHardOrGoHome

Good show

Good show

BZ to our Royal Marine Cadets who finished 4th at yesterday’s 1 Troop Drill Competition.

It was a long, cold day, with a very early start, but a cracking effort put in by all concerned.

Thanks to the staff and parents for your support, also.
