This Weekend (13th December) we have 5 teams taking part in District Competitions. Continuity Drill // Colour Party // Guard // Squad & Junior Drill Team. Best of luck to all those taking part. Remember you are representing T.S Scarborough, lets go smash it :)
Cadets will meet up at 09:00 outside of Queen Street Methodist Church, near 'Boyes'. After the Remembrance Service we will march down Eastborough to the Sea Front and hold our 2 mins silence on the 'West Pier'. There will be the traditional Ceremony followed by two of our Cadets taking a boat out to Sea to place a wreath of Poppies on the water. Please remember immaculate Number 1's and poppies in your caps. This is our annual opportunity to show thanks and to pay respects to those who have paid the ultimate price.
This year's 'Trafalgar Day Parade' will be held in Leeds. There will be 300+ Sea Cadets from all over Yorkshire attending, as well as from further afield. The Parade is open to the public, so Parents & Friends are more than welcome to attend. The Parade will begin at 11:00 followed by a Church Service at Leeds Cathedral from 13:00 - 14:00 (1pm-2pm). This will be a great opportunity to meet members of other Cadet Units and swap stories.
This Weekend (26th & 27th September) is our 13 Mile Field Gun Pull from our Unit to Ravenscar along the cinder track. The route will have various 'Stop-Off' points for refreshments and kit checks. We are heading off from the Seafront at 10:00. It is hoped that we will arrive at Ravenscar around 17:00. This is a great opportunity to raise much needed funds for the Cadets. Remember your sponsor forms. On Sunday we will meet at Burniston Car Park and march with the Field Gun around North Bay back to the Unit. Any Parents and Friends who can help transporting Cadets from Ravenscar, back to the Unit along with the equipment, would be greatly appreciated. Go 'Team Scarborough'.
We will be holding our annual 'Row-a-Thon' on Saturday 29th August on Scarborough Sea Front. This is our chance to raise some much needed funds for the Unit & hopefully go some way towards buying another 'Rib' for the Cadets. All Cadets are requested to log what times they can do as we attempt to 'Row to Sea Cadet HQ in London' from 08:00 - 18:00 on rowing machines! This is an ambitious target of 175 Nautical Miles. Cadets, Staff & Volunteers will be taking turns to keep the miles ticking over throughout the day. All parents, friends & family are more than welcome to come along during the day and cheer everyone along. Go Team Scarborough!
