Lord Mayor Invite to Sheffield Town Hall

Lord Mayor Invite to Sheffield Town Hall

This Thursday afternoon, TS Sheffield Cadets visited the Town Hall as invited by the Lord Mayor. All divisions turned out and were treated to a personal tour as the Lord Mayor took us through from his Parlour to the Council Chambers. Take a look at some of the goings on in the photo gallery, and thanks again for the invite!

Chip Shop Survey & Birthday Celebrations

Chip Shop Survey & Birthday Celebrations

As we welcome home 3 Staff from courses at Beckingham, take a look at what went on last Thursday Parade Night. C24 Division were out in the community to complete a 'taste test' survey of local food shops selling chips. But the night wasn't complete until the Ship's Company celebrated a Staff birthday at evening colours, always looking for an excuse for cake and singing, with a UMC member producing a wonderful cake!

HMS Sheffield Memorabilia Donation

HMS Sheffield Memorabilia Donation

This Parade Night we welcomed Ted 'Levy' Ashmore, former Sheff Cadet and RN rating with a service history including serving aboard HMS Sheffield. Having made the journey to our Unit, there was the very kind donation of memorabilia collected during service. Have a look at pictures & descriptions below, they will certainly be given proud placement in the Unit. As a SCC Unit in a major city, we have been lucky to be affiliated with a Royal Navy Ship to bear the city's name. Many thanks again Levy, always welcome back, as all friends are!

Juniors Memorial Tidy-Up

Juniors Memorial Tidy-Up

Another opportunity for C24 Division to be out-of-unit and in the community. Last Parade Night our Juniors joined staff in giving Sheffield's War Memorials a much needed tidy-up. Last night in Hesley Park Chapeltown. With weeds removed, leaves swept up and poppy wreaths dusted down, there was even some light left to have one or two games on the field. Thanks again to our little crew of cleaners!

TS Sheffield Band Corps

TS Sheffield Band Corps

Tonight at TS Sheffield the Band Corps really started to come together. With a few basics now covered, the individual elements could begin to march as a group. Its down to the willingness of those taking part who stick at it, so well done team. Many thanks to more adult volunteers getting on-board and helping the Corps develop. The Band is filling up, but there are a few spaces left (looking at the RMC for the bigger drums) so come on down. With a reminder that as always, practice is on Wednesday's  6:30pm-8:30pm. Check Events Calendar for Cancellations.
