DUTIES IN THE CITY OF LONDON

DUTIES IN THE CITY OF LONDON

Cadets were out in force to assist at the WCSIM Summer Banquet held at Skinners Hall in the heart of the City. Many distinguished guests were in attendance including Baron Oxburgh, KBE, FRS who is an eminent geologist and geophysicist. Lord Oxburgh is well known for his work as a public advocate in addressing the need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and develop alternative energy sources.  A scheduled ancient monument, Skinners’ Hall includes a banqueting hall and glass chandelier made for Empress Catherine the Great of Russia, and the large bell in the hall, cast in 1190, is one of the oldest in the country.

Staff and cadets from Southwark assisted at the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride. Over 32,000 cyclists set off from Clapham Common to enjoy the 54 mile journey that takes you from the bustling capital, through breathtaking country lanes to the finish line at Brighton's famous seafront. TS Cossack manned check points 1 to 6 which are possibly the most difficult taking in the start through some of the busiest roads. Interested, then why not register your interest for the London to Brighton Bike Ride 2014, which will take place on Sunday 15 June 2014.
