LONDON AREA SUMMER CAMP

LONDON AREA SUMMER CAMP

During August 2013, Callum Malone, Sian Cummins and Evangeline Oppan all enjoyed a week at the London Area Summer Camp. Luxurious accommodation was booked at Shorncliffe's Napier Barracks Folkestone where the food, courtesy of the British Army, was also first class. Activities were many and varied but centred around waterborne activities including sailing and canoeing.

Summer Sailing Course

Three cadets from T.S. Cossack S.C.C. have been enjoying their summer at the Royal Victoria Docks Boat Station.

Able Cadet Sian Cummins, Cadet First Class Harry Tutt, and Cadet Oscar Hartwig-Reyes have been under the supervision of qualified instructors and completed their RYA Stage 1-3 qualification.

They have been sailing in a variety of craft, learned many new skills, and made new friends with other sea cadets from across London Area.

Having completed this course, they look forward to going sailing with the unit!

Party in the Park

Party in the Park

TS Cossack SCC were invited to participate in the local community event, Party in the Park 2013 at Faraday Gardens.

This was an exciting opportunity for cadets to engage with the local community. Our cadets showed the public their seamanship skills and provided short rowing taster sessions.

As well as performing their duties, cadets were able to enjoy the various activities at the event, including go-karting and bouncy castles among others.

Go Ape Treetop Adventure

Go Ape Treetop Adventure

Southwark Unit enjoyed a sunny day out at Go Ape Leeds Castle for their Treetop Adventure, living life adventurously.

Cadets had fun on the high ropes, leaping off Tarzan Swings, and flying down huge zip wires!
