A very generous donation was made to TS Scimitar on Monday 21st March by the late Mr Robert Owens. Sadly Robert passed away recently and in his will he left £1000 donation to TS Scimitar and its cadets as part of his legacy. Robert was a cadet at TS Scimitar over 55 years ago. On Monday evening, Tom Owens (Brother), Robert Junior Owens (Son) & Mathew Owens (Grandson) presented the cheque to the Cadets. We would like to personally thank the Owens family for such a gift to our cadets as this will be used towards funding cadet courses. Thank you.
We are currently recruiting Adult Volunteers for both the Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets. More information can be found under 'Join Us' or Contact Us.
On 30th January 2016, we held an In-Unit Weekend to celebrate the achievements of our cadets in 2015. Last year saw many triumphs in the local community & at competitions, etc. On Saturday, we held a Nerf Gun War which involved turning the entire unit into a warzone and scored each cadet in modes of Capture of the Flag, Team Death match and Free-For-All. Cadets also chose to attend Jump Nation in Manchester on the evening. A great weekend in reward of all their hard work. Well Done!
On the 24th January 2016, we sent our Junior Girls to Lesowe on the Wirral to compete in the North West Area Football Competition. Our Girls were representing Merseyside East District and did an excellent job, placing 3rd overall. Next year we aim to place 1st and compete in the National Competition #NWAFootballComp
