Letters from Santa - Christmas 2020

21 November 2020

To all the good folks of St Helens,

I usually visit the Mill Street Barracks grotto each year, however, with the current situation we face in the world, I will not be able to make it this year.

Despite this, I still aim to see all those on my nice list. The St Helens Sea Cadets are helping me reach you by Zoom video calls for a £2.50 donation.

I will also be writing letters to the children for a £2.80 donation to help support the Cadets and the local community, Last day to order will be December 12th.

Please contact one of my helpful elves at events@sthelenssc294.co.uk or Mill Street Barracks Facebook page for more information.

Best Wishes,

Santa Claus.

We will remember them!

We will remember them!

Our Officer-In-Command, CPO(SCC) James Dillon laid a wreath at the St Helens Town Centre Cenotaph to pay our respects to those that we will always remember. It is unfortunate we have not been able to parade this year due to the ongoing pandemic. However one way or another, St Helens Sea Cadets will always remember 🙏 #RemembranceSunday2020

Remembrance Sunday 2020 - Update from St Helens

7 November 2020

We would like to provide you with an update from the Sea Cadets regarding Remembrance Sunday events this year:

"It is typical for us to mark Remembrance Day with national parades across the UK where we honour and remember those who’ve served and sacrificed for their country. This year, although Remembrance Parades will not be possible. We encourage cadets and volunteers across the nation to watch the National Service on television and pause for the two minute silence this Sunday in your home or on your doorstep in uniform."

We encourage cadets to participate in the two minutes silences, either in uniform or not. Please do adhere to the current rules associated with the national lockdown.

If you would like to send any photos of your son/daughter on your doorstep in uniform, please send them to newsletter@sthelenssc294.co.uk and we will ensure these are published in the next upcoming newsletter and on social media.

We understand that this is very different from previous years, however we will always pay our respects in one way or another.
