At the weekend junior cadets attended TS Gurkha's Junior Training Weekend. Not only did the cadets sleepover at the unit but they also completed numerous modules required to earn their coloured badges.
For juniors there are five main badges; Blue (Waterboune), Yellow (Community & Citizenship), Green (Outdoor & Recreational Activities), Red (Unit Activities) and the Commodores Badge. Each Junior must complete 15 modules in each colour to get the badge. Once they have recieved all the coloured badges they must complete a total of 22 modules in each colour to achieve their Commodores Badge.
The highlight of the weekend was a massive Nerf war. The Juniors had to build a base, collect foam bullets and shoot at the other team, all without getting themselves or their team shot.
The weekend was a great success with lots of the juniors walking away with badges and some even coming away with their Commodores Badge.

Tonight Stratford-Upon-Avon Junior Cadets were joined by Mrs Cooke. They completed one of their red modules (Unit Activities module) by making sausage rolls and baking/icing cupcakes for all the members of staff at the unit.
They learnt about important health and safety issues that you need to be aware of within a kitchen environment whilst still having fun baking lovely treats.
