Last Parade 2018

Today, our cadets rejoiced and celebrated as 2018 came to a close for Sutton Coldfield Unit.

Organised by our Senior Cadets, the ships company explored the park throughout the day, having to complete tasks and trivia. 'Operation Reindeer Rescue' was put into place.

After a funfilled day, the cadets sat down for a final meal and finished with a visit from Santa Clause!

Today, our cadets joined with other cadet forces, schools, public services and the public of Sutton Coldfield to celebrate and remember 100 years since World War 1 ended.

Standing proudly on the Cenotaph, our cadets wore their poppies with pride as we give thought to those who gave their lives so that we could live ours.

District Seamanship Competition 2018

Today, six of our cadets took park in a competition where they were tested on their seamanship knowledge, from basic knots to sail making!

Having trained hard on the run up to the competition, they performed better than any previous years by achieving in each section of the competition!

Taking home the bronze, they made Sutton Coldfield Sea Cadets proud!

Area Swimming Competition 2018

After our success' at District, four of our cadets advanced to the Area stage of the competition.

With little-to-no training, our cadets took part in the competition, racing as fast as they could.

Working with the rest of Warwickshire District, they brought back medals and lead the District to 1st place overall.

District Trafalgar Parade 2018

Today our unit marched, with the rest of Warwickshire District , through Redditch to remember The Battle of Trafalagar.

A combined 9 units marched through Redditch Town Centre, with our cadets spread throughout the squad, guard and our staff taking part in marching the colour.

Our cadets, along with the District, showed the Redditch public the professionalism and discipline that the Sea Cadets have.
