We`re back to boating, starboard watch out on the canal practising their paddling skills and getting rid of the cobwebs. Needles to say our cadets really enjoyed it, you can see it on their faces.

We are ready to accept new Juniors and Cadets, please contact the unit to arrange a visit to us.
We are also on the lookout for new adult volunteers, do you fancy the chellenge?
Well after 14 months away, we held our first unit night on Monday 24th May after achieving LIME status.
It was great to see our cadets again, starting to get back to doing what we enjoy, getting used to new ways of how we operate.
In the coming weeks we will open our doors to those young people that have showed an interest in starting their Sea Cadet journey.
Here at Thornbury we have recycled an old dinghy and turned it into a feature.
We filled it with soil and have sown it with natural wild flowers, these flowers are specifically for bees and butterflys.
We also added sola powered navigation lights to it so it light up the footpath that passes in front of the unit.
Our next project is to put planters made from recycled wood in front of the unit.
Here at Thornbury unit we are busy getting the unit ready for our return to parading in the near future, once we are back we have exciting new activities for our Cadets.
The unit has had a makeover in the past few weeks with improved facilities for our Cadets and Volunteers, this will enhance the Sea Cadets experience for everyone.
Hope to see you all back at the unit soon and back on the water.
