The Junior cadets were given a chance to have a look round the Little Briggs Training Ship Allen.
Once every two years a serving Royal Navy Commander known as the 'Area Officer' comes to inspect each unit in his/her area. 2011 was an RNP year for Warsash. It is an exciting time to showcase skills and adventures as well as what the cadets have achieved in the year.
As many of you are probably are aware the unit held its Bi annual Royal Navy Parade (RNP) Inspection on Sunday 9th of October, The parade has set a bench mark as it was the first to be held on a Sunday Morning in the Southern Area, & normally these parades take place in the evening of parade nights.
Cdr Richard Tarr RN the Southern Area Officer (AO) Arrived & carried out the formal inspection of the Cadets & Unit under the watchful eye of the District Staff. After a quick stand easy & caption competition the cadets carried out a 40 minute presentation to the AO & Parents on how the Sea Cadets can change a young person's life by joining the Corps & what it has to offer. The Cadets presented a series of briefs & demonstrations including New Entry Training, 1st Aid, Piping, Seamanship, Cook Stewards Specialisations & the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
The Junior Section gave the Area Officer a demonstration on Water safety & going Afloat.
