Friday 1st June - Sutton Bingham

Friday 1st June - Sutton Bingham

Cadets will be at Sutton Bingham Reservoir tonight. Unfortunately there is no transport available and so parents will need to take cadets there. Please arrive by 1845 and pick up at 2045.  Rig will be civilian clothing with soft shoes/trainers and definitely no boots! If you have any problems getting there, contact the unit beforehand and we will see if we can help in any way - 07565247963.

Royal Naval Parade (RNP) - Tuesday 22nd May

Royal Naval Parade (RNP) - Tuesday 22nd May

As this is a major event with a lot to do on arrival, the transport will pick up from Yeovil at 1800 (6.00pm) and from the gate at 1815.  Return times should be as normal.

Parents attending need to be at the hanger for 1845 (aim to get to the gate for 1840).

We haven’t had as many families replying to the RNP letter about coming and watching as last time. If you do want to come along please email the unit on yeovilseacadets@btconnect.com with your names, vehicle description and registration number. Alternatively text the information to the new unit mobile 07565247963.

The uniform for the parade is half blues. This means that Sea Cadets need to wear your Number 1 trousers and White Front, carry your blue wool pullover with epaulettes in case it gets cold in the hanger. Marine Cadets need their Lovat trousers and stone shirts.

The ‘White Front’ needs to be ironed all over with a hard crease down the centre of the front and hard creases down the centre of both sleeves. Trousers should be ironed and boots highly polished. If you already do this then thanks a lot, if not then please take a bit of time out of the weekend to demonstrate to the new Area Officer that we are one of the top units in the South West.

First impressions count!

Unit Open Day on Saturday 31st March

Unit Open Day on Saturday 31st March

On Saturday 31st March we are holding an Open Day for parents at the Johnson's Sports and Social Club, Johnson Park, Yeovil (BA21 3DX).

The event is designed for you to come in and meet the unit staff and committee members, find out more about what the cadets get up to and how you could get involved with the Parents and Supporters' Association.

There will be a number of static displays for you to look at which will highlight the opportunities available to Sea Cadets and our achievements. In addition we will also hold a 'uniform surgery' and will be on hand to provide advice and criteria for sewing on badges/sorting out uniform.

This is the first time that we have held an event like this and would really encourage your support. You are welcome at anytime between 1100 and 1300. Some of our cadets will be involved in the displays.
