October 2015 – Inter Services Horse Riding...

On Sunday the 25th October Cdt 1st Class Langford from T.S Broadsword was proud to take part in the Inter Services cadet horse riding Competition held at Windsor Great Park.

Cdt 1st Class Langford was one of three cadets representing the Sea Cadet Corps and they joined 17 other cadets from the other cadet forces for a day of competitions.

On the day the riders had their names drawn out of a hat to match them to their horse for the event, with Cdt 1st Class Langford being paired with a large horse called Zorro.  They undertook various activities through the day including jumps and all had a great time.

Well done Cdt 1st Class Langford, we’re glad you enjoyed your day and the opportunity to take part.

October 2015 – District Trafalgar Day Parade,...

On Sunday 25th October 2015, the cadets and staff of T.S Broadsword joined the 6 other units from Oxon & Bucks District in Oxford City Centre for this year’s Trafalgar Day Parade.

The Parade is held annually to honour and commemorate Lord Nelson and the Victorious British fleet who battled and defeated the Spanish and French fleet at the ‘Battle of Trafalgar’ in 1805.  Over 100 cadets and staff where in attendance at this year’s event which included a church service of remembrance and a parade through Oxford City Centre.  A great turnout from the whole District – Bravo Zulu all.

October 2015 – Royal British Legion 2015...

On Saturday 24th October, T.S Broadsword were very proud to support the Royal British Legion with this year’s Poppy Appeal launch in Aylesbury.

The cadets joined with Veteran’s from all the forces to witness the ‘Colours’ being marched in before the 2 minute silence to honor those who have sacrificed their lives in the two world wars and many other conflicts.

Over the following two weekends the cadets were proud to join the Royal British Legion and help with collecting for this year’s appeal. A fantastic job undertaken by all involved – Well done everyone.

See next month’s newsletter for more details and for the pictures of the unit proudly taking part in this year’s Remembrance parade.
