After months of preparation and training, the six Cadets took to the water at Wateringbury. Operating as a self-contained team, without adult supervision (except when going through locks), they paddled for six hours to Allington. At Allington they set up camp and fed themselves, before all got together around the camp fire. On the Sunday the group cooked themselves breakfast, struck camp and paddled, against the current, back to Wateringbury. At Wateringbury the group gave a presentation on what they had learnt about the history of the Medway.
The group passed with flying colours, throughout they were an absolute credit to themselves, the Unit and the Sea Cadet Corps.
Thanks are due to Bexley SCC for the use of their site at Allington and to Ben Bullen, of Ben Bullen Adventures, the expedition leader and assessor.
