Corporal takes the challenge

Corporal McClellan responded to an advertisement to apply to take on a leadership challenge in the Brecon Beacons, successful completion of which would lead to a level 3 Institute of Leadership and management (ILM) award in team leading. McClellan found himself on the short-list and packed his kit bag to attend for the weeks training.

While in the Brecon Beacons he enjoyed participating in challenging outdoor activities such as gorge walking, advanced map reading, leadership and command tasks, mountain climbing and canoeing. All these activities allowed him to develop practical leadership experience, decision making, communication and team leading skills. all at the unit are very proud of Corporal McClellan and his achievements, he successfully passed the course and is currently completing the theoretical elements of the ILM level 3 award. Corporal McClellan hopes this course will stand him in good stead as he hopes to attend university and then join the Armed forces as an officer in due course.
