Cadets, Staff and Committee turned out at Morrisons in Maldon for a day of Bag Packing.

Hopeful of raising funds for a new boat at the unit - a big Thankyou to Morrisons and the shoppers for making us feel so welcome and not forgetting the shoppers who were very complimentary of our cadets .

 After their success at the recent District Competition our Juniors (Nozzers) made the trip to  Play On Sports London Arena to battle out the medal places with the best from London Northern, Southern and Western districts. Accompanied by other teams from London Eastern District they managed to finish 3rd in their category. This was some our our teams first time at an Area competition and despite not winning the overall trophy their OIC Juniors (A/PO Julie Eagle) accompanied by A/PO Dan Eagle and parent supporters 'enjoyed' some enthusiastic singing from the team all the way back to the Unit !!

Maldon Sea Cadets entered this years District 5 a side football competition at the James Hornsby School in Basildon. Entering teams in 4 out of the 5 categories; Mixed Nozzers, Junior Boys, Junior Girls and Senior Boys - competing against 10 other units from across the District. 

Our Nozzers retained the Overall Winners (Nozzers category) that they won last year with some convincing performances throughout the competition. Our next best placed team in their category was our Junior Girls who collected silver medals for their 2nd place.

Overall positions:

Nozzers - 1st

Cadets   - 3rd

Watch out for reports from next weeks Area Football competition as our Nozzers now step up to represent the District !

We entered several teams at the Athletics Competition - for many different events including; running, shot put, discus, long jump and high jump.  Once again Maldon and District did well and recieved trophies in "A-Class Girls" "X-Class B" and "Nozzer Boys".  A big well done to all the cadets who entered! =)
