Area PY Regatta - Jutland Trophy

Area PY Regatta - Jutland Trophy

11th May 2013

A small team of cadets entered the Jutland Trophy competition, a sailing competition where the cadets had to sail against the progressively worsening weather – with winds high enough to require the course being shortened.  After a couple of capsizes the, slightly wet, but happy cadets, managed to secure overall sixth place =)

Well done and thanks to all who attended!

24 Hour Sail

24 Hour Sail

4th/5th May 2013

Once again Maldon Sea Cadets will be attempted to sail a dinghy a full 24hours, through the night.

They used all their sailing skills to continue sailing the bosun without capsizing, even when exhausted.  The other competition gave them a challenge on the water, keeping them motivated and alert so they could ensure that they kept clear of any obstacles and avoided collision. The night shift was a challenge with just a torch and their wits to keep them on track!  All cadets, although tired, had great fun and some worthwhile experience.

Thank you for your support!! =]

Advex Competition

Advex Competition

19th/21st April 2013

This years Advex competition was hosted by Walton on the Naze’s Cadets. This competition consisted of many leadership challenges, such as a rope management game, an obstacle course, an assault course, a missile run, along with a mini archery challenge, a first aid challenge, a rowing challenge. As well as all of these challenges, there was also the normal challenging hike, and having to successfully set up camp and rest between challenges.  Our cadet team came 8th overall, and considering the vastness of this competition they achieved a lot! =)

District Shooting Competition

District Shooting Competition

10th March 2013

This year’s shooting competition was substituted with an Archery Competition.  Cadets did really well – especially with the very little practice we were able to due to not having an archery range.
