This is your opportunity to have your say on how we grow our unit.
There are no specific educational or experience requirements for this role; having the right attitude and a passion for improving the lives of young people are the most important things!
If you think the person specification below sounds like you, then please get in touch:
• You are reliable, honest and trustworthy
• You are enthusiastic and keen to learn new things
• You are a good communicator
• You enjoy working as part of a team
• You will be a role model to young people
Cadet Portal (Blue Jackets Only) - The Sea Cadets are continuing to push forward for the Cadet Portal to become the primary form of communication between the organisation and cadets. The portal allows cadets to see courses at all levels across the organisation, has a friends function to connect with cadets they meet along their journey, has access to the Sea Cadet Magazine and quizzes as well as allowing them to track their personal progression. To register cadets will need their personal email address registered on our IMS Westminster and their Cadet Pin Number, both of which can be checked with the Admin Officer.
I hope all of our cadets and families have had a lovely Christmas break and are raring to go again now it's the new year!
Due to some of the volunteers testing positive for Covid-19 the decision was made to delay the restart of Cadets.
I am pleased to say that the Senior cadets (Blue Jackets) will return to the unit Monday 17th January 2022 and the Junior cadets return on Thursday 20th January 2022.
Arrival Times - Please remember to stagger arrival times between 1900hrs and 1920hrs. This will prevent congestion in the gangways.
Collection Times - Juniors can be collected from 2100hrs and Seniors from 2130hrs. Again this will allow social distancing to be implemented.
Covid Secure - Face Coverings - In line with government guidance and MSSC Policy our Covid-19 Secure precautions remain in place so please remember your mandatory face coverings which are to be worn indoors at all times unless exempt (please bring a note with you explaining your exemption if applicable).
Covid Secure - Lateral Flow Tests - We encourage all cadets to test before coming to the unit each parade night and if you test positive please inform the unit as soon as possible and follow government guidance. For those who wish we have some Lateral Flow Tests available at the unit, please just ask.
Covid Secure - Wrap Up Warm - Please remember to wear your full Number 4 or Junior Uniform including jumper (Juniors) Woolley Pulley (Seniors) as Windows and doors will be open to allow air flow through the unit. If you have not been issued with a jumper or woolley pulley please let a member of staff know and we will arrange one to be issued.
Contact Details - Please can you ensure that we have up to date contact details for all Next of Kin and Alternative Next of Kin for all cadets. There have been occasions in the past where parents have changed phone numbers and forgotten to inform up. Attached is a full contact details recapture form if you feel this is required.
