Wessex Power Handling Winners 2012

Poole Unit's Team won the District Boat Handling (Power) Competion. The team consisting of A/C Walsh, L/C Saunders & A/C Taylor attended the district finals on Sunday 6th May at Shamrock Quays in Southampton. The team are now busy training for area under the instruction of thier team manager PPO Cobley.

Navy Board Cadet for Southern Area

Congratulations to Petty Officer Cadet Reece Oliver who has recently become the Navy Board Cadet for Southern Area during 2012. This is a very prestigious award which is given to the best cadet in each Area and he will be one of only six cadets in the whole of the UK. His duties will be to accompany a Navy Board member/very senior Royal Navy Officer to such events as Royal occasions, opening ceremonies, ships visits, formal parades, presentations and awards, recruiting events and cocktail parties.  During these events, Reece’s role will be to brief the senior officers on issues relating to the Southern Area.

The award is well deserved and all at Poole Unit wish him all the best for the coming year

A Night at the Races - Charity Fundraiser

A Night at the Races - Charity Fundraiser

The unit is holding  a ‘night at the races’ fundraising event on Saturday 4th February at 7pm. A hot supper will be provided and you bring your own drinks.

Tickets £5 Adults and £2.50 Under 18’s are available from the unit

Under 18’s must be accompanied and supervised by an adult

Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday

Poole Sea Cadets took part in the Borough of Poole Remembrance Day Parade. Cadets from Poole and Parkstone Units formed The Guard at The Cenotaph under the direction of POC Oliver and Poole Unit Band led both the main parade and the Mayor and dignitaries parade. AC Gallivan and AC Adams played the Last Post.

The Unit Band then went on to lead the Ferndown Parade in the afternoon.
