St Helens RMC Detachment attended an intense weekend at Altcar Training Camp competing against other units in the North West Area for a chance to compete in the National Gibraltar Cup Challenge. St Helens RMC have previously competed in this prestigious competition and have been successful. This year seen very stiff competition with other units in the North West and were unfortunately unsuccessful for this year. Their efforts are commended and we look forward to seeing the competition next year!

After several months of fundraising, Scimitar sent cadets and staff to visit the battlefields and beaches from the D-Day Landings. This took place over the Summer of 2014. After laying several wreaths, Scimitar paid tribute to those who fallen during World War 2.

Congratulations to all who fund-raised for this trip.

During the North West Area Conference, LC Shannon Duff was selected as North West Area Navy Board Cadet. This is a first for St Helens Sea Cadet Unit. This is a prestigious position in which Shannon will attend several events across the UK and Abroad representing the Sea Cadet Corps. Shannon will also travel to Spain in 2015 to watch the new TS Royalist be launched.

We are immensely proud at St Helens of Shannon's achievements and selection. Bravo Zulu!
