The weekend of 24th – 26th July saw 9 cadets take part in the Basic (3rd Class) First Aid course held at Woking unit. First Aid is probably the most advantageous course run in the Sea Cadets and for so many cadets from Woking being taught these vital skills is a benefit not only to the unit but the wider community.
Cadets were taught the basics from the best and easiest ways of summoning help, dangers associated with first aid, CPR, dressing wounds, shock and much more. The highlight of the course was the mock injury scenarios where the ‘wounds’ created were very realistic and hats off to the instructors who I think missed their calling for film set makeup artists.
A massive well done to: MC Boyd, CDT Cheareu, CDT Gunner-Smith, CDT Ivory-Bray, CDT Peacock, MC Griffiths, MC Jones, CDT Fletcher and CDT Vincent. A massive thank as always goes to the course instructors PO (SCC) G. Evans (Woking) and PO (SCC) S. Collins (Woking).
