Another award for Woking Sea Cadets. It was announced at the Southern Area Conference that Woking Sea Cadets was awarded jointley with two other units the Most Improved units within Southern Area. Lt Cdr Ray Mitchell Presented Sgt Paul Chapman Commanding Officer with a certificate for Most Improved Unit.
Finally the Unit has been awarded a Burgee. After many years of receiving pennants, the Staff and Cadets have worked hard this year to ensure the high standards of training, cadets getting qualifications and getting away on courses. This could not have been done without the hard work of all the staff and the commitment of the both staff and cadets.
September 2011, Woking Sea Cadets moved from thier old building in Westfield Avenue to the new purpose built building on Goldsworth Park Lake. This is a new and exciting era for the unit. This £1.7 million project, funded by Woking Borough Council, will benefit the whole community and give a much needed boost to Woking and Surrey District Sea Cadets. Its a multi purpose community facility that will be run by Dianthus Trading Company on behalf of and for Woking Sea Cadets.
