Well done to the Luton and Dunstable Sea Cadets who did really well sailing and boating in some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK. Based at the foot of the Forth Road and Rail bridges at Port Edgar saw the cadets navigate and sail in boats calm and moderate conditions. The culmination was a planned navigation exercise with lunch off Inchholme, an island in the middle of the Firth of Forth. The weather was great for power boating but becalmed the sailers and the windsurfers. I must congratulate all the cadets at the skills developed and qualifications gained.
Many thanks to the instructors and staff and SCTC Caledonia for hosting us and taking the time to instruct so skilfully.
A great week.

2015 Burgee for TS Lionel Preston

2015 Burgee for TS Lionel Preston

Another Burgee, another Very Good Rating
Dunstable Sea Cadets achieved another Burgee Rating or Very Good as assessed by SCC over the last 12 months.
All aspects of the unit are measured from the UMT, the cadet experience, water safety, staff development etc. This culminates in an inspection where all cadets and staff are assessed
The unit focussed on development last year, spending thousands on refurbishment. But this did not detract from the Cadets activities.
I would like to thank all the Staff, UMT and our cadets for making this happen.
All colleagues are worthy of note but I would pay special compliments to the UTO, XO and 1st Lt. Also to Merv and Graham who work tirelessly to get the building up to scratch
Well done all of you.
Regards and best wishes.
