This weekend see's T.S. Scarborough partake in the 'Cadets Area Football Competition'.
They played very well to reach the 'Areas' final and with the same success could make it to the 'Nationals'. Leaving from the Unit at 16:00 on Saturday afternoon (06th Dec), travelling down & staying over night at the Lincoln Unit, for the competition on Sunday. Travel in civvies. Estimated due back time 18:00 tbc. Best of Luck 'Team Scarborough'!
T.S. Scarborough were invited to Tesco this weekend for our Unit 'Flag Day' and a big 'THANK YOU' needs to go to both Tesco and the generous support of the people of Scarborough, who helped the Unit to collect over £650.00.
A fantastic effort by the Staff & Cadets who took part. Thank you all again.
Another excellent turn out for this years 'Remembrance Sunday Parade'. Scarborough Sea Cadets Cadets supplied drummers to lead the parade down Eastborough to the RNLI boat-house. We were greated to a warm morning on the seafront and the beach was full as local people showed their respect for the 100th anniversary and the 2 minutes silence was impecably observed, as always.
This year is a very special year due to 100th Anniversary of the start of the Great War. Scarborough Sea Cadets will be remembering their sacrifice twice this month. Firstly on Sunday 2nd November we will be at the 'Garden of Remembrance' in Alma Square to show our support to the Royal British Legion in their 'Planting of the Crosses'. This will be attended to by the Mayor of Scarborough, Sea, Air & Army Cadets, Marching Band of the Yorkshire Regiment Volunteers, and many civic dignitaries. Standards will also be on display. This is followed by a march thorough the town centre finishing outside of the Royal British Legion.
On Sunday 9th November a Service will be held at Queen Street Methodist Church followed by a parade down 'Eastborough' to the Life-Boat Station. A Service will then take place on the sands where there will be the traditional 2 minutes silence at 11am. As Many Cadets as possible are requested to attend both events in immaculate No. 1's. This is an opportunity for Scarborough Sea Cadets to show the town who we are and to make them proud of us.
