Had a great day Saturday, made some money for T.S. Scarborough and had tremendous fun as well. Looking forward to Sunday now!
A wonderful day which culminated in the Lord Lieutenants Cadet and the C/I receiving the 'Armed Forces Day' ensign from the Mayor of Scarborough. It was dedicated to the 'Youth of the Town' who were describe as 'our future', by the Mayor. C.O Natalie Davies & P.O. Cadet Ben Robinson took the salute from the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Peter Scrope.
T.S. Scarborough's stall was manned on the day by members of the 'Friends & Family' committee as well as staff members from the Unit. Selling Flags, running a 'Help for Hero's' bear tombola and answering numerous questions regarding both the Unit and the Cadets, kept everyone busy.
The stall was a great pull also to the 25,000 visitors as we had 3 fantastic model ships on display. These were supplied by Barry Robinson, a local businessman, who makes them in his spare time. These included HMS York, HMS Fearless and HMS Ark Royal. The attention to detail and the dedication shown in their production was awe-inspiring.
Cadets from T.S Scarborough also performed a 'Drumming Display' and made two 'Field Gun' runs, which entertained the crowds and drew loud cheers of delight with how well every member of the teams performed.
A superb day was completed when the money was totted up and TS Scarborough made over £500.00.
Very well done to all involved. BZ.
