Scarborough Sea Cadets have been lucky enough to be granted FOUR new sets of heads for our Unit. After an advert from local business 'SWC Trade Frames', who are celebrating their 25th anniversary here in Scarborough, on Yorkshire Coast Radio, we applied for help in upgrading the heads in our Unit. This week we have found out that we have been chosen as one of the groups SWC wish to help. In partnership with 'Direct Tile Importers' & 'Yorkshire Coast Homes', who's plumbers will fit the new units, we will be able to replace those in the Boys Heads, Girls Heads and Staff Heads. Thank you to SWC and your partners in making this 'wish' come true :) There is a link to the interview with Yorkshire Coast Radio on their website under 'The-Wish-List'.
This Sunday is Eastern Districts Trafalgar Parade. T.S. Scarborough are the hosts for this years event. We are welcoming other Units from the Eastern Area along with their guests. The Parade will meet at St Mary's Church and then march through the town centre and along the Foreshore Road. We would also like as many Parents to come along and support the event. There will be a lot of visitors to the Unit and so anyone who can help will be very welcome.
A good day in York for the North East District 5 a-side football competition.
Good effort from all concerned and a great result for the ship winning through to Area Competition for Junior Boys / Junior Girls and Senior Girls. Also, our Junior Cadets took home the Trophy for their Competition.
Also well done to Hull Senior Boys who won and will join us at Area in December.
Tuesday, there will be a Parents & Residents meeting at The Scarborough Sea Cadet Unit. There will be a presentation from the UMT and a slide show. This will give everyone the opportunity to see what we have planned and to ask the Architect any Questions. Tea & Coffee will be provided. Please come along and support the Cadets and learn what the building plans are, timescales and everything which will involve the local area.
This weekend (6th & 7th Sept) is our annual 13 mile 'Field Gun Pull' from the RNLI Life Boat Station on the seafront to Ravenscar, along the old Cinder Track Come along and support the Cadets and remember to sponsor them for their great efforts. Every penny raised goes to the Cadets and helps buy them equipment they need for the lakes or the Unit.
***** NEWSFLASH**** The Cadets have made it to Ravenscar, in spite of the weather and will be returning tomorrow along Albert Drive around 10a.m. Come alone and support them as they arrive at the Life Boat Station around Mid-Day.. :)
