June and July saw our District boating competitions
This year we entered into the Paddlesport / Rowing and Powerboat handling / Rowing and Yole racing
The cadets trained for these events and they did them selves proud.
The Unit powerboat team got through to Area and came 05th
The unit volunteered to be a mile maker at the Southampton ABP Marathon. Our spot was right by Bitterne Station. We set up the minibus and a RS Quest, along with an army of cadet and adult volunteers, plus the unit band.
We supported all the runners with loud cheers of support and music from the band
The Junior section were as busy as ever, for the first time in the units history we opened a second group, to accommodate all the youngsters that wanted to join us.
The Juniors spent time learning about being a sea cadet, learning new skills and enjoyed all the practical skills
We had cadets away on area courses including first aid and Physical training - All of the courses were enjoyed by the cadets
Cadets undertook at the unit various training courses which resulted in qualifications in First aid . Catering, Navigation and Seamanship
