HMS COSSACK ASSOCIATION PARADE

Cadets from Southwark (TS Cossack) and Clapton (TS Bulwark) were proud to take part in the HMS Cossack Association parade.

With accommodation onboard HMS Bristol which is berthed alongside HMS Excellent, Whale Island, Portsmouth it was a busy weekend for all

Ronnie Francis attended the Association dinner on the Saturday evening and platoon and band supported the parade on the Sunday

Then on completion it was off to Southsea for some well earned rest and recreation

T.S. Cossack S.C.C. welcomed representatives from the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers aboard on Tuesday 1 April 2014

Joined by parents and supporters of the unit, the guests saw cadets in action doing various land based activities

Powerboat Training at Royal Victoria Docks

Powerboat Training at Royal Victoria Docks

Our cadets who recently completed a RYA Powerboat qualification was back at the Royal Victoria Docks Boat Station on Sunday, 23 March 2014, for some training in a RIB and 'Jaffa' Rigiflex.

A training course was set out, marked by buoys, as they underwent timed trials.

This was a fun day which was enjoyed by the cadets, with them looking to progress on to further powerboat qualifications.

Four cadets from Southwark represented London Area Sea Cadets at the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships (NJIRC) 2014, which took place at Lea Valley Athletics Centre on Friday, 21 March 2014. Our cadets put in a great effort, had an enjoyable time, and met with the Area Officer for London Area, Cdr Tim Porter.

The four cadets from Southwark were PO Cdt B Wood, AC A Button, OC H Tutt, and Cdt 1st R Mitchell

LONDON AREA MUTI ACTIVITY CADET TRAINING

For Callum Peek it was a weekend at Crowborough Camp in East Sussex covering all aspects of life outdoors with camping, camp craft and map & compass work. The British Army provided excellent food and accommodation but some preferred tents and ration packs and are looking forward to the next multi-activity weekend later this year.
