Visit to Dunkirk and Calais, France

Visit to Dunkirk and Calais, France

Our cadets had the opportunity to go to Dunkirk and Calais on the weekend of 1-2 March 2014. During the trip, we visited a number of military and maritime sites, which are listed below. This was a fun, enjoyable, and educational experience.

Saturday, 1 March, was spent in Dunkirk, after travelling to France from London via the Eurotunnel. While in Dunkirk, we visited the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Memorial, Dunkirk Town Cemetery, Port Museum, The Belfry, and St Eloi Church.

After staying overnight, we returned to the Malo Les Bains beach on Sunday morning, 2 March, before driving towards Calais, where we visited Parc St Pierre, the Lighthouse in Calais, as well as the Calais beach. The return journey was, again, via the Eurotunnel.

This was a great trip, and we would like to thank Team London Bridge for their support.
