We hope to see much more of him as he has kindly agreed to take on the honorary role of Unit President.

OFFSHORE FLEET

Oscar Reyes has just returned from an offshore cruise aboard TS John Jerwood.

To complete the eventful week TS John Jerwood together with TS Jack Petchey escorted TS Royalist into Portsmouth for the final time.

More than 30,000 cadets have sailed with the Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC) flagship since it was commissioned in 1971, including Oscar.

Its replacement, a £4.8m, 32-metre (105ft) brig, is being built in Spain and is due to be delivered in March in time for the 2015 season during which a number of Southwark Cadets will put to sea.
