Additionally the group were also able to visit The Telegraph Outdoor Show, The London Bike Show and the Triathlon Show.

It was a good day at RMR (City of London) for London Southern District Drill and Piping competition.

With a large number of participants Alfie Francis finished second in the JSC section, just a point behind the winner. Also Harry Tutt finished in 3rd place just a fraction behind the winner and runner up in the Cadet section.

Historically the boatswain's call was used to pass commands to the crew when the voice could not be heard over the sounds of the sea. Because of its high pitch, it could be heard over the activities of the crew and bad weather. It is now used in traditional bugle calls such as Evening Colors/Sunset, and in other ceremonies in most modern navies.

The year started with the London Southern District 5 a side football competition.

The Southwark 10 to 12 team had a very good day finishing in 1st place.

Next, the London area event will be held at Powerleague Docklands at Canary Wharf on Sunday 25 February 2015.

Beddington Park adjacent to Sutton Sea Cadet unit (TS Puma) was the venue for the Southern District Cross Country and Tug-of-War in December.

A good performance by all secured a 2nd place in the senior boys event and another 2nd place in the Tug-of-War with other Southwark competitors also doing very well.

Then just time left to make final preparations for the District Quiz final between Southwark, Greenwich and Tooting to be held at Beckenham on 16 December.
