REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. On this day people across the nation pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave Service men and women.

Southwark Sea Cadets were proud to parade with Southwark RBL marching from Baganza Street to the service in Kennington Park. Cadets paraded together with Veterans, Reserve Forces and Army Cadet Force and provided the bugler.

An excellent example was set by all.

LORD MAYORS PARADE

It was a cold and wet November day for the 2014 Lord Mayors Procession but the Sea Cadet Platoon included four Southwark cadets while a further two were on the float.

The Royal Navy had the privilege of leading this years event and were closely followed by the Sea Cadet Band, Platoon and float.

CAMPING AT CROWBOROUGH

CAMPING AT CROWBOROUGH

For one lucky cadet it was off to Crowborough Camp for an Expedition Training weekend.

Located on the edge of Ashdown Forest in East Sussex Crowborough Camp, together with Pippingford Park Army Training Area, provides an excellent venue for camping, campcraft and map and compass work.

At the same time other cadets spent the last Sunday of October at Royal Victoria Dock involved in a combination of rowing, sailing and power boating.
