HMS COSSACK ASSOCIATION

In April cadets from Southwark, TS Cossack, and Clapton & Hackney, TS Bulwark, attended the annual HMS Cossack Association parade in HMNB Portsmouth. After a night aboard accommodation ship HMS Bristol Band and platoon were inspected by Admiral Sir James Eberle, President of the Association having led the parade and march past. Sir James spoke to all cadets present and swapped stories with those from Clapton as he had previously served on the Centaur-class light aircraft carrier Ro8 ‘HMS Bulwark’ while an Admiral. Admiral Eberle also presented the Association’s annual achievement award to Cadet Nathaniel McQueenie during the annual reunion dinner at Southsea. The following day Nathaniel carried the Sea Cadet Standard in the parade. Association Chairman Ken Satterthwaite thanked all involved ‘The band was well appreciated by all and I had a special thank you note from 'Lady Digby' and her son 'The Honourable Rupert Digby' who are the daughter and grandson of the late Vice Admiral Sherbrook VC, Captain of Cossack (LO3) during the 2nd  Battle of Narvik’.
