Dunstable Sea Cadets, Royal Marine Cadets and Juniors marched from Grove House Gardens to the War Memorial in Priory Gardens as part of Dunstable’s Remembrance Parade. The Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony took place at the memorial at 11am. A short Remembrance service was then held in Priory Church.
On Sunday 27th October 2013, cadets from Dunstable Sea Cadets took part in the district 5-a-side football competition at Luton.
The Junior Sea Cadets team came second, the Senior Boys team came second and the Junior Girls team came first. The Junior Girls will now go on to compete at the area competition on Sunday 1st December.
Congratulations to all who took part.
Congratulations to the hornpipe team. Tonight, they travelled to RAF Chicksands, where they performed at the Trafalgar Night Mess Dinner for the invited guests. Their many weeks of training paid off as it went really well on the night. This is a photo from last night's practice at the unit.
After they had performed they were invited to watch the display by the Royal Marine corps of drums. I'm sure it will have been a memorable event for all involved.
Thanks also to CI Blumenthal and PO Hollis for organising the training over the many weeknights and weekends.
10 cadets from Dunstable Sea Cadets were chosen to take part in the National Trafalgar Day Parade in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 20th October. 5 of the cadets were from the newly formed Royal Marine Cadet detachment. They took part in several days of training locally, before spending 3 days of intensive drill training in Portmouth. This culminated in the once in a lifetime opportunity to take part with 500 other cadets in the national parade.
The unit also supported the PR stand at the event.
Congratulations to all who took part in the parade and training, you should be proud of your achievement.
