The District Drill Competition was held at RMR Tyne and six of teh units from the district sent squads to the competition. The standards were VERY high but Gosforth emerged as the overall winners taking best Squad, best Routine and best Squad Commander for LC Davies. The colour party finished a very respectable second. BZ all!!

Victory at District Piping
The Gosforth team put in an outstanding display at the Northumberland Piping Competition taking the best piping team trophy and also the best Individual Piper for AC Cantle-Jones. Great effort guys- well done!
International Exchange for a Gosforth Cadet
LC Davies has been chosen to take part in the International Exchange program for 2013. LC Davies will visit South Korea in the summer along with a handfull of other cadets from around the country. BZ Leading Cadet!
HMS Dauntless visit
The affiliated ship of Newcastle, and our units namesake- HMS Dauntless sailed into the Tyne for a week at the end of February. The unit had four days in which the ships company of the Type 45 destroyer visited the unit (Friday night), the cadets visited the ship (full days tour on the Saturday), the cadets assisted in the ship being open to the general public (Sunday 24th Feb) and the Chairman and Commanding officer were invited to a capability demonstration along with local business leaders, charity groups and the Lord Mayor (Monday 25th Feb)- what a busy 4 days!!
